Senior Leadership

Ravi Thanawala was appointed Interim Chief Executive Officer by our Board of Directors on March 20, 2024.  He continues to serve as Chief Financial Officer, a role he was appointed to in July 2023. He joined Papa Johns from Nike, Inc., where he most recently served as Chief Financial Officer of Nike North America. During his seven years at Nike, Inc., Mr. Thanawala also served as the Global VP and CFO of the Converse brand, which included working within a franchise model that comprised most of the brand’s international business. In addition, he was the Global VP of Retail Excellence, overseeing the brand’s performance across its business channels of franchises, licenses, direct to consumer and wholesale during a time of digital transformation for the business. Prior to Nike, Inc., Mr. Thanawala spent eight years at ANN INC. with progressively increasing responsibilities in finance and operations. He served in the finance leadership role for LOFT; led ANN INC’s Asia operations, global logistics and international trade based in Hong Kong; and eventually became CFO of the ANN INC. business, a subsidiary of Ascena Retail Group, Inc.

Madeline Chadwick was appointed Chief Corporate Affairs Officer in February 2023 after serving as the company’s SVP, Communications and Corporate Affairs since November 2019. She joined Papa Johns in 2018 as its VP, Communications and Community Engagement. Ms. Chadwick leads internal and external communications as well as the company’s corporate social responsibility and Environmental, Social and Governance initiatives. Before joining Papa Johns, Ms. Chadwick led communications for the founder of Quicken Loans and owner of the Cleveland Cavaliers NBA franchise, Dan Gilbert, and his family of companies and investments in Detroit and Cleveland. She also served in senior global corporate communications roles at eBay and Hewlett Packard. Prior to her in-house career, she worked at leading public relations agencies for more than 15 years overseeing communications strategy for a number of global consumer brands. Ms. Chadwick has held both regional and global communications roles in the U.S., Europe and Asia.

Justin Falciola was appointed Chief Insights and Technology officer in November 2019 after previously serving as Senior Vice President, Chief Analytics and Technology officer from October 2018 to October 2019. Mr. Falciola previously served as Vice President of Enterprise Architecture and Analytics, and prior to that as Vice President of Digital Solutions. He joined Papa Johns in 2016 after his role as Director of Enterprise Integration and Architecture at Humana. Prior to Humana, Mr. Falciola held technology leadership positions in the financial services industry and has two decades of experience in building and leading high-performing digital, analytics and technology teams.

Shane Hutchins was appointed Chief Supply Chain Officer in October 2018. In this role he leads PJ Food Service (PJFS) which oversees the company-owned Quality Control Center Operations, Supplier Management and Quality Assurance in the United States and Canada. During his more than 20 years with the company, Mr. Hutchins has held various positions within its Food Service Division, including operations and support and oversight of its global commissary network spanning across nearly 50 countries. He has also served in financial and strategy roles at the company. Prior to joining Papa Johns, Mr. Hutchins was a senior auditor for Deloitte and Touche, LLP, focused on manufacturing, health care and nonprofit organizations.

Caroline Miller Oyler was appointed Corporate Secretary in July 2020 and Chief Legal & Risk Officer in October 2018. Ms. Oyler previously served as Senior Vice President, Chief Legal Officer from May 2018 to October 2018 and Senior Vice President, General Counsel from May 2014 to May 2018. Additionally, Ms. Oyler served as Senior Vice President, Legal Affairs from November 2012 to May 2014 and as Vice President and Senior Counsel since joining the Company’s legal department in 1999. She also served as interim head of Human Resources from December 2008 to September 2009. Prior to joining Papa Johns, Ms. Oyler practiced law with the firm Wyatt, Tarrant and Combs LLP.

Elias Reyna was appointed Chief People and Diversity Officer in November 2022. Mr. Reyna joined Papa Johns from ABM Industries where he was Vice President Human Resources, Manufacturing and Distribution.  Prior to ABM, Elias was Vice President Human Resources and People Services for Papa Johns, where in two years with the company he led the HR function, as well as served as the People Operations lead for the opening of a second headquarters in Atlanta. During his time at Papa Johns, he also served as interim VP of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion during a transition period.  Mr. Reyna Elias brings more than 20 years of human resources, change management, organizational design and culture transformation experience at companies with large, diverse, global employee populations. Most notably, he was in HR management positions at Shell Oil Company, Tesoro Refining and Marketing, and Marathon Petroleum Corporation.

Mark Shambura was appointed Chief Marketing Officer in May 2023. He joined Papa Johns from MOD Pizza where he was Chief Marketing Officer since 2018. Prior to MOD Pizza, Mr. Shambura served as Executive Director of Marketing at Chipotle Mexican Grill where he helped spearhead the “Real Ingredients” brand strategy and integrated campaign execution. He also held roles at a variety of agencies focusing on leading food and beverage clients during his 25+ year marketing career.

Joe Sieve was appointed Chief Restaurant Officer in May 2022. Mr. Sieve joined Papa Johns from Inspire Brands where he served as Vice President of Franchise Development since June 2016. Prior to Inspire, Mr. Sieve worked at Domino’s Pizza, Inc., first as Director of Strategic Market Growth from May 2010 to January 2014 and later as a franchisee/owner with a portfolio of 58 Domino’s restaurants from January 2014 to June 2016. With more than 25 years in the food service industry, Mr. Sieve began his career as a multi-unit franchisee of Goodcents Deli Fresh Subs and La Salsa Fresh Mexican Grill.
